Free traffic: Import Your Blog To Facebook

Facebook is a social networking website where you can meet new people, find old friends, share ideas and engage in lots of other things. It has millions of members, which a large user base of professionals, readers, bloggers, intellects and casual readers. Since it has now become one of the most visited sites on the internet, you will agree with me that adding your blog to your profile will surely give it more exposure.

If you are on Facebook, try and add me as your friend through http://www.facebook.com/people/Jide_Ogunsanya/786750191 and you will see all the tricks i use regularly to expose my Blog to the entire world. Whenever I post a new entry to my Blog, it automatically appears on my wall at Facebook and all my friends receive notifications that there is a new post at my Blog for them to check out. Aint this cool ?...well, read on....

There are several ways you can add your blog to your Facebook profile...........

Firstly you will have to create an account if you do not have one. Anyone can join Facebook. After registering with a valid email address you can join the networks you are interested in to connect with people of similar interests. You have full control over your profile to show only what you want and keep the rest private.

PUT BLOG IN PROFILE

To do this, i recommend BLOGCAST. With Blogcast. you can add your blog Feed URLs and set how much of your blog posts you want to display. Save the settings and now your blog posts will be seen by everyone looking at your profile on Facebook. I personally set it to show part of my posts, so any friend of mine that is interested in reading the full post will have to be redirected to my Blog. If it is set to Full, your friends might not see any reason to visit your Blog since they can always read your full post on your wall. So, it is better you set it to only show part of your posts.



PUT BLOG LINK IN PROFILE

In the New Facebook, you will notice there is a "SHARE LINK" tab on your Profile page. You can always use this feature to share links of your posts. All you need is to copy the full url of your post and paste it inside the box and Click OK. After a few seconds, your post will be seen by your friends with a link to your Blog.

Also, you can put your blog link in your profile using the "Update Status" tab. I always tweak this in such a way that whenever my friends receive my Status notification on their homepage, they can easily click on a link in the status message that will link them directly to my Blog. If you are in my friend's list, you will understand better how this works.


PROMOTE YOUR PROFILE

You can a put a Facebook badge on your blog to promote your profile. Visitors to your blog can click on it to visit your profile and check out your networks and interests.

To do this click on the 'Create a Profile badge' link in the bottom frame of your Facebook profile. You can design your own badge or use any of the templates to show off your photos, your websites or your contact information. After customizing your badge, copy the code given and paste it in a Html page element in the sidebar of your Blog. Have added my own badge to my Blog and you can see it down the page.

New applications are being developed everyday. To promote your blog with applications, all you just have to do is to search for Blog related applications, add them to your profile and you will notice how they promote your Blog free of charge.

To search for Blog related applications, click on the "edit" link besides 'Applications' in the sidebar of your Facebook homepage. On the 'Applications' page, you will notice a search box, type in the word 'blog' in the search box and you will get some results. Click on the application you want and then click 'Add Application' to set the settings and add it to your profile. There are applications to add a screenshot of your blog as well.
