The reported death of Osama Bin Laden is the talk of the moment and loads of internet users are busy clicking and clicking in order to get pictures or videos that are in connection with his death. While some internet users are combing for pictures and videos, some cybercriminals and scammers are busy passing up fake links that can infect your PC or mobile devices with viruses, trojans etc.
McAfee Labs, has published a post titled: Osama Bin Laden death Scams. Kindly go through it to read updated info on how the cybercriminals and scammers are now carrying out their attacks leveraging on the News of Osama Bin Laden's death.
Imagine an hacker luring some internet users to click a link for them to see "a video in which Osama bin Laden is shown holding a newspaper with today’s date and disprove his possible death reported by OBAMA". Don't you think many people will rush to click on it? Imagine thousands of people whose PC would be compromised when the link installs a trojan on their PC, after clicking on it.
If you are not careful with links that lure you to watch such "hard to believe" videos, you might fall a victim and I am sure more of such cyber attacks will keep rising especially if the White House does not release photos and videos to proof Osama Bin Laden was really killed and buried at the sea.
