You can download movies from Youtube for FREE. I have been downloading free movies from YouTube right from the day I installed Easy Youtube Downloader to my Google Chrome browser. I watch the movies with my FLV players and also with the K-Lite Codec Pack Player.
So, How Do I get Started?
Download and Install Google Chrome browser to your computer
Install the plugins for downloading YouTube videos as explained here.
Go to http://www.youtube.com/movies
Choose your movie, and click WATCH NOW
Look for the download link as explained in the use of the downloading plugins above and start downloading.
You can download and install K-Lite Codec Pack Player here so you can be using it to watch the movies.
That's all.

I usually use IDM to download movies but it is a paid software than I used download helper add on on my firefix but it also doesn't help much.
