MTN Family and Friends Xpanded, MTN FunLink Reloaded, MTN Super Saver plan Analysis

MTN Nigeria has launched new tariff plans: MTN Family and Friends Xpanded, MTN FunLink Reloaded and MTN Super Saver plan.  To me, they are still expensive considering what other Networks in the country are offering now. In this post, I will brief you about the new plans.

UPDATE: MTN Nigeria has updated the plans.

What are common to these plans?

SMS MTN – MTN:                                       5 Naira per SMS sent
SMS MTN – Other Networks in Nigeria:       10 Naira per SMS sent
SMS International:                                          15 Naira per SMS sent
MMS:                                                            60 Naira per MMS sent
    DATA:                                                           5 Kobo per Kilobyte

Will I be charged if I change Plans?

Well, First change in 30 days: FREE but Next change within 30 days:  NGN100.00

    Conclusion

Looking carefully at the plans, you will see they are somehow complicated and still expensive.  What is 3Mb when Etisalat is giving 15Mb???   Globacom even makes you call all networks at a flat rate of 25k/sec with NO HIDDEN CHARGES. Aitel also has very good plans and freebies. So, why cant MTN too do something close?

I just hope they will change soonest....

    1. I really like the way you highlighted the new plans. Just too expensive plans. As for me am only using MTN to receive calls. Nothing more. if they like, let them change, if they like, they should continue. all less concerned. thx for this post.

    2. Thanx 4 breaking it all down. like u noted, it's complicated and still xpensive. One of my frends used my line to subscribe to family and frends xtended and now i'm angry with him.

    3. MTN new tariff plans is the most confusing thing I have come across this month! A close analysis might even revealed that they increased their tariffs. This is sheer higgledy-piggledy.
