How I Use Blogger.com To Host Images FREE

If you are facing problems hosting your images with image hosting sites like Photobucket and TinyPic especially with regards to their bandwidth limits, well, I have decided to share with you, how I use Blogger.com to host my images for FREE.

If you are still using sites like Photobucket, to host your images, your images will stop showing once you exceed the bandwidth limit ( i.e if your uploaded image is viewed too many times) instead...... an irritating ' bandwidth exceeded' image shows.

To prevent your blog followers from seeing the irritating ' bandwidth exceeded' image, I advice you start using Blogger to host your images henceforth. Blogger provides 1Gb of free space to every user for images and that's more than enough.

Here is the trick....

To use Blogger as your image host, follow these steps:

1- Log in to your Blogger account and click New Post button to create a new post. You can give the post, the title "Pictures".

2- Now click on the Add Image icon to upload your image

3- A new window will open to upload your image or images

4- Click "Upload", then click "Choose Files"  if you want to upload images from your computer. You can also add images to your post using other uploading options you see in the Uploading window.


Note: Before Uploading your images from your computer, try and rename the images with names you can easily use in identifying them.

5- Once your image is uploaded and you are seeing it inside your post, switch to the "Edit HTML" mode of the Post Editor by clicking on the "Edit HTML" button ( beside the "Compose" button) .

6- You will see some code like this in the post editor via "Edit HTML" :

7- There are two image URLs in the above picture code, one is the source of the image (Red) and the other (Blue) is the URL to which the image is linked.

8- You've nothing to do with the URL to which the image is linked (Blue), all you need to do is to copy the other (Red) URL and use it wherever you want to use.

9- So, this is the URL or address of our uploaded image:

Note: I named the image above, SmsAd125by125. Hence, will make it easier for me to trace it's source code assuming there are many images inside the post. So, always give your images simple names you can easily use in identifying them.

10- Use it wherever you want. I'll recommend you save the post as a Draft because you might need the URL of the uploaded image again in the future. ( DO NOT publish the post, just SAVE AS DRAFT)  More so, you can always edit this post and add more images to it using the trick above, whenever you want to host new images. 

Now that you have a URL that shows the exact location of your image, you can reference that URL wherever you want to use the image.
