Glo APN For Blackberry Phones

If you are a Globacom Nigeria BIS subscriber, some applications on your Blackberry will not work despite having an active BIS running on your BB if you didn't configure your BB to use Glo APN settings . If the Glo APN settings are correctly configured, applications like 2go will run smoothly on your BB, though your airtime might be charged instead of your BIS.

Below is the Glo APN for Blackberry settings:

APN: glosecure
Password: gprs
Username: gprs

Don't know how to configure your BB? Ok, follow the steps below:

From Your Home Screen, Go to Options => Advanced Options and select TCP/IP
Tick the "APN Settings Enabled" box
Enter glosecure as the APN
Tick the "APN Authentication Enabled" box
Enter gprs as the username
Enter gprs as the password
Save your settings (Very important)
That's all.

If you can't locate the TCP/IP on your BB ( e.g Curve 3G)  following the steps above, try the steps below:

From Your Home Screen, Go to Options => Device => Advance System Settings and select TCP/IP

Tick the "APN Settings Enabled" box
Enter glosecure as the APN
Tick the "APN Authentication Enabled" box
Enter gprs as the username
Enter gprs as the password
Save your settings (Very important)
That's all.

I hope this helps....

  1. its really amazing the kind of articles that young nigerian bloggers blog about. I never expected that i'll be coming across this kind of an article. But all the same great job brother.
In this regard, i have a little hitch. You mention that using the APN provided, airtime credit might be deducted in pllace of the BIS. So am suggesting maybe another APN would suffice that would use data plan and not available airtime credit.
A very good on as i have experienced on my symbian is:
    APN: glofalt
    Username and password: flat
This APN would use strictly data plans and nothin aside data plans.
    Great job once again bro...
