If you have decided to buy an iPad, you must understand that not all iPads have SIM card slot. There are differences between Apple iPad 3G and Apple iPad non-3G (wifi iPad). A 3G iPad has a SIM card slot while a wifi iPad don't.
If you have a 3G iPad, you can connect to the internet via iPad data plans offered by Internet service providers and also via wifi but if you have a wifi iPad, you will only be able to connect to the internet via wifi. 3G iPads are more expensive than wifi iPads.
Apple iPads use micro SIM cards that are smaller than the normal SIM cards we insert into out mobile phones. You can walk into the any MTN, Globacom, Etisalt or Airtel office to get a micro SIM card for your iPad.
Below is a picture of Globacom Nigeria Micro SIM card for Apple iPad 3G.
The Glo micro SIM card works with all Apple iPad 3G ( Apple iPad 16Gb 3G, Apple iPad 32GB 3G and Apple iPad 64GB).
How To Get the Glo Micro SIM card for Apple iPad
Go to the nearest Globacom office and request for Glo Micro SIM card. I bought mine N600 ( Price might change with time...)
After Getting the SIM card, What Next?
==> Register the SIM card
==> Once activated, load airtime on it and subscribe to the data plan of your choice.
==> Remove the SIM card tray from your iPad.
==> Place the SIM card into the tray as seen in the picture below and fix it back into the iPad
That's all.
In my future posts, I will share with you how I load airtime directly on my Glo iPad SIM card without removing the SIM card from my iPad. Just make sure you SUBSCRIBE to my blog if you do not want to miss this..
