Download FileZilla: Free Software That Allows You Upload Files and Folders From Computer To Web Server

If you have some files and folders on your computer and would like to transfer them to your web server, you will need an FTP software like Filezilla to do the job for you. FTP is a standard way to upload or download files between your local system and your web server, and FileZilla is a solid client for everyday FTP needs.  You can also use such free FTP client to back up your website files to your local PC without much stress.

Filezilla is the software I use whenever I manually install wordpress on my web server. It allows me to easily drag and drop files/folders to my web server with ease. It's fast, stable, easy to use, and free. It is an open-source FTP-client and FTP-server with lot of features, supporting Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and more.It comes in both a Javascript and non-Javascript version.

All you need to use Filezilla in uploading and downloading files and folders from your web host, is your website’s FTP account information which include:

    ==> Your FTP host name
    ==> Your FTP user name
    ==> Your FTP password

If you don’t have your website’s FTP account information at hand, ask your hosting provider.

To get a free copy of the FTP software, download free Filezilla latest version here and choose the version best suited to your operating system.

I hope this helps.

If you know alternatives to Filezilla FTP software, kindly share the info via comments.

  1. yes, it's also my favourite FTP client but why do you have to be stressing yourself installing wordpress manually to your web server when you can easily do that using Fantastico?

  2. Cpanel has a WebDisk option which allows me to View my Server files like a Folder and make transfers drag and drop or copy and paste.

    All these third-party things give me the creeps, u know security compromise and stuff.
