YBCodeLab, is one of the top software companies in Nigeria with an eye for developing highly innovative applications in the areas of business and entertainment. Founded by Yusuf Bello, a seasoned developer and enterprise solutions architect, the mobile app development company already have in their kitty, four applications.
1. The Naijaboy Mobile app
This is the flagship product of YBCodeLab which showcases their expertise in blackberry app development. Naijaboy is a cartoon animated character who in the app illustrates some nigerian slangs like "Aje Butter", "aje kpako", "Gidigba!", "kakaraka" etc with comic and drama.
If you are a Nigerian, you will find it fun and exciting enjoying the animated displays as you select the different slangs. If you are a non-Nigerian, you will find the app educative because it will expose you to some Nigerian slangs.
The free version of Naijaboy app is available for download on some Blackberry smartphones though limited slangs are activated in the free version. The full-version is to be available in late April which will not only have all listed slangs activated but will be speech-enabled which means users will be able to speak to Naijaboy and he will respond. A cool naija hip-hop background song will also be embedded in the full version once launched.
2. 2D and 3D Animations
The Nigerian software development company also develops short cartoon animations suitable for advert and jingle contents. Sample of these animations are available at ybcodelab.com. The idea is to provide alternative to videos for advert houses, jingles, electronic billboards etc. Cartoon Animations is also very useful to film houses. This a market that is yet to be exploited in Nigeria.
3. Business Directory Service
This product won the highest investment when it was pitched at the first ever Dragons Den TV reality show in 2008. It has now been repackaged and about to be launched by August 2013 according to the founder of YBCodeLab. Its database is currently being populated.
When launched, it promises to have the largest list of Nigerian businesses. It will be accessible via sms, web, mobile app and voice (call Center). Getting registered on this directory will be a MUST for business by the time it is launched if they are to achieve the right visibility in the Nigerian market. There is a link to the web version of the directory service at YBCodelab website.
4. Intelligent Portals
These are portals that were developed and ready to be tweaked to suit all any business requirement and taste. It is meant to automate the management of resources such as human resources, school academic records, stores and purchases etc. It comes with bio-metric modules and online payments module.
