Wondering what happened to domainking.ng?
Well, the domain name registrar and web hosting provider is technically down. The domainking.ng website is opening fine, you can pay for services but you can't register new domain, renew existing domain, nor manage dns records for now. Unexpired domain names are still working fine though.
I paid for domain name registration and renewal since 4th of February and none has been activated till this very moment. The support team has not been replying tickets either. This is very unusual because their fantastic support is one of the reasons I have been addicted to them since they launched their business in Nigeria. All mails that I sent to their admin and reps have not been replied till this very moment.
Anyway, according to an update on domainking.ng Facebook page, the technical issues were caused by mass abuse of their services and going forward, you will now have to produce a government issued photo id with Name and Address for you to host a website or register a domain name at domainking.ng. For customers that have paid for services, they promise to provide them with service or the refund once they resolve the issues.
Below is the update:
Well, I hope they fix this asap.
For now, I am using Namecheap.com. I've been using them even before DomainKing.ng launched in Nigeria.
