Nokia has announced Nokia Asha 308 and Nokia Asha 309 as additions to the family of Asha Touch smartphones. With the Asha 308 and Asha 309 slotted neatly into the middle of the family, Nokia claims there is now an Asha Touch to suit everyone’s preferences and budget.

The Asha 308 and Asha 309 feature 3-inch, scratch-resistant, capacitive touchscreens, a 2-megapixel camera, powerful built-in speakers and the fun-to-use Asha Touch operating system.
The difference between the two is that the Asha 308 is a dual SIM phone whereas the Asha 309 is a single SIM phone with built-in Wi-Fi.
The new Asha 308 and 309 seems to be the successor of Asha 305 and 306 with capacitive touch screen, double amount of Internal memory and better camera with improved focal range (starting from 60 cm instead of 100 cm). Hence, there are some differences between Nokia Asha 305 and Nokia Asha 308.
The Asha 308 and 309 are Nokia’s most affordable capacitive touchscreen devices to date. Nokia estimates the retail price for the Nokia Asha 308 and Nokia Asha 309 to be about USD 99, excluding taxes and subsidies, with shipping expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2012. This simply means the price of Asha 308 and 309 will cost around N16, 000 in Nigeria once they get to the Nigerian market.
