How To Make Money Selling Other People’s Products Online in Nigeria

This is a guest post compiled by Tito Philips

• Do you know there are over 60 million Nigerians online as of today?

• Do you know that majority of these people have needs and are searching for products/services that will meet their needs?

Stop to think about that for a second.

This is a classical example of what entrepreneurs and investors call a business opportunity!

But despite the existence of this growing business opportunity, less than 10% of Nigerians are translating this opportunity into a profitable business venture. The good news is that I’m one of the unusual entrepreneurs who are maximizing this opportunity. And so can you!

I am so sure you fall into one of these 3 categories; unemployed, employed or struggling small business owner. I don’t quite care the category you fall into as of now; I am more concerned about the category you will choose to be in after reading this –a successful internet entrepreneur.

The Million Dollar Question; how can you also become an internet entrepreneur?

That’s exactly what I want to reveal to you here. And guess what? You don’t even have to sell services like I do, which believe me is more difficult selling via the internet than a product. What I’m about to share with you is a product-based business you can start today online working from the comfort of your home. And so you know upfront, I am not charging you a DIME for this information, its 100% FREE!

  • Introduce yourself as an internet marketer who can help them sell more via the internet through your online shop
  • Negotiate a discount on the product[s] so that you can make a profit selling them on your online shop
  • Take clear pictures of the product[s] with a phone or camera to display on your online shop

I really like this idea you shared in this post. You market for businesses around you and keep your own commission after sales but do you think the companies will be willing to give you their products to sell for them when they don't actually know you?

  2. They don't have to give you their products to sell. You don't have to leave their shop or office with any products except the pictures of those products and their respective prices. This is what you will showcase on your own online shop.

When customers get in touch with you through your online shop, you will then setup a meeting with them at the venue of your supplier and make the transaction happen.

This is how it works and this is why it's super easy to startup. You are the independent marketer for them, you don't need to stock any goods, you just need to bring them customers through your online shop and you sell to the customers in their presence. This is how they will track your sales and be able to calculate your commission on every sale.

You own the shop online, they own the one offline!

    1. Spot on Akan,

Exactly why I feel so strongly about this. It is simply doing what the big companies do on a small scale level where so many startup entrepreneurs can participate.

      Thanks for the brilliant comment!

Yes, makes sense. I use the idea in selling used Blackberry phones on campus and am making cool money from it.

This is a really great idea for anyone looking at starting a business with minimal capital. If you don't have a product, get in touch with someone who has; it's a win-win situation. There are thousands to millions of ideas waiting for people to leverage on. Middle man business is a good business.

    Thanks for this great post
