Sure Ways To Build High Reputable Backlinks To Your Blog

This is a guest post compiled by Pelumi Ayandoye  for OgbongeBlog

SEO (search engine optimization) falls into two categories : on-page and off-page optimization. Off page optimization deals majorly with backlinks aka inbound links. Backlinks are simply incoming hyperlinks coming from other websites to your site. Building backlinks for your site can help you rank higher in serp (search engine result pages) if done the right way.

We have two major backlinks which are "Nofollow" backlinks And Dofollow backlinks.

Nofollow backlink is a link that did not pass any seo benefit to the linked site while a Dofollow backlink is a link juice that passes seo benefits to your site.

According to researches I've made online, these two types of backlinks are must-have for all websites that want to show up higher in serp. The two works together. You must have both nofollow and dofollow as it helps you in serp. Having tons of one over the other might hurt you in SERP. So, mixing both nofollow and dofollow backlinks makes sense.

Ways To Build Backlinks

1. Guest Posting

Guest blogging has been one of the major ways in building a backlink. If your guest post gets accepted by a site with lots of backlinks and high google page rank, you can be rest assured of getting quality backlink from such site.

To get site where you can submit guest post just google search "List of site that accept guest post".

Be careful though, because bad guest posting activities can hurt your site too.

2. Commenting And Participating In Forums

As Nigerians the best forum site for us for now is Nairaland.com. You can get loads of backlinks from the forum by creating interesting threads that includes links to your site and also commenting on threads created by others.

There are other forums you can explore too : warriorforum.com etc

Don't spam the forums though as google can easily figure this out and nail you.  Only add links to your comment if the thread is related to the links you want to add to the comment.

3. Using Haro

Help a Reporter Out (HARO) is an online service set up for journalists to quickly gather feedback from the public. It is designed to enable journalists to connect with people who can server as sources for their stories quickly.

If you're chosen as a source, you have the opportunity to ask the reporter to include information about you and your blog. As you can imagine, it's a popular site both for reporters and would-be sources because everyone is winning in that formula.

So, you if you can provide necessary details the reporter needed and attach your site link and helpful tips, you will get backlinks once the story goes live on news sites.

4. Building Broken Links

Another way is to target a high PR site lets use wikipedia as an example.

First you must be registered on wikipedia and search for dead links in some of its pages.

You can just search for site:wikipedia.org “Keyword phrase” “dead link” on google it will bring out broken links base on your keyword phrase, click on one of the results and find the broken link, click on edit page beside the dead link and replace the dead link with yours and save.

If Wikipedia approves the link after review, then you've just gotten yourself a quality backlink. Mind you, it might take some days before Wikipedia will review the link.

That's all for now.

Please, buying backlinks is a NO NO. Just my two cents.

If you know other ways of getting quality backlinks, kindly share via comments.

  1. Guest Posting not only build backlinks but also do brings Traffic. However in my 5 Proven Methods to Drive Traffic, I did also mention that when one is doing Guest Post, he should think of "not only to build links on the blog" BUT "To add Value to the Website Where Guest Post is being Done.

I have read about HARO somewhere on a blog but i still do not understand it. Can you shed more light on it @Pelumi

  9. I think the best and most quality method is guest posting. Guest posting does wonders. On the other hand, I don't think Wikipedia will ever approve your personal link. I tried it one or two times and was kicked out.
